Ian Tate Plumbing and Heating Ltd. is an independently owned and operated plumbing, heating, ventilation and refrigeration business that was established in 1999 by Ian Tate.  With over a century of combined plumbing and heating experience between three family members alone, Ian Tate Plumbing and Heating Ltd. are confident they can satisfy all of your commercial, institutional, industrial and residential needs.  It is this extensive experience in all facets of the plumbing and heating industry from design to installation to maintenance, that sets Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating Ltd. apart.

Starting out as a small business owner, reinforced the importance of careful use of resources and doing more with less.  It is this approach that all employees of Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating Ltd. continue to take when dealing with their clients, regardless of the size of the project.  They pride themselves in ensuring the best value and highest quality of work.  It is this reputation that has created additional partnerships and placed Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating Ltd. as an Authorized Dealer for Pentair and Wirsbo.

In 2010, Ian decided to move from being hands on in all physical aspects of his plumbing and heating business to focus on growing his business to what it is today.  This meant moving from his tools to an office, where he could focus his time and energy on larger contracts and business ventures with some of the major institutions and commercial businesses on Mainland Nova Scotia as well as Cape Breton Island.  Even with the growth of his business, Ian has not lost sight of the smaller projects and residential business that helped give him his start and maintains a small team focused on offering his plumbing and heating services throughout the community.

Continuing to build on existing partnerships with people in the community, Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating Ltd. has continued to evolve and grow.  Relationships with BIRD Construction and Dumac Energy as well as suppliers such as Crane and EMCO have all had a positive impact on the community through new construction and expansion projects.

Maintaining a strong relationship with UA Local 244, Local 56, Local 409 and Local 116, ensures access to as many qualified trades as the job requires.  Combine this with Ian’s strong advocacy and support for apprenticeship training, direct and indirect job creation has been an added benefit that Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating Ltd. has had on the local community.

Ian is one of few Owner/Operators that is not only Red Seal Certified as a Plumber and Steamfitter/Pipefitter but has extensive hands-on experience to rely on.  There is nothing better than an Owner/Operator who can confidently speak to schedules, timelines, challenges and cost-saving measures of any size job, and base this knowledge on an extensive amount of personal experience.
